About

I’m kishi. I started this blog as a way to share my findings regarding Gundam doujinshi from the 1980s, but it has since grown to be a mix of scanlations, archive, and database for both Gundam and Legend of the Galactic Heroes, two series very close to my heart. I consider it to be my definitive online portfolio.

My goal is for this site to serve as a way to preserve old works I enjoy in an accessible format, as well as translate them for an English speaking audience who might not have a way to experience them otherwise. It’s a way for me to share the stuff I collect with people around the world, and that’s what makes this hobby so fun for me.

More than ever, I believe it’s important to safeguard physical media and ephemera, records of the past that are precious to us, for our own enjoyment and those who come after. If you’re reading this, I imagine you feel a similar way. I hope that beyond just acting as a resource, it inspires you to preserve the art you hold dear too.

This site would not be possible without the help of my partner Zorio who serves as my editor and go-to for Japanese knowledge. Their help has been invaluable in improving the quality of the translations.

Outside of the work I do for this site, I also enjoy building model kits and drawing fan art (here’s a gallery of some of my work). You can find a link to my socials in the bottom bar.

“For as long as human history goes on, the past will continue to accumulate. History isn’t just records of the past, it’s also proof that civilization has continued to advance into the present. Our present civilization is a result of our past. In the long flow of history, living things know nothing about their ancestors except the genes that they have inherited. Only mankind has a history. Having history differentiates mankind from all other living species.”
